This academic year, there were 187 student athletes, filling out nine different teams, with more than 100 games under their belts.  Collectively, all of the teams combined came out with a winning record for MCC this year.

President James Mabry and Provost Phil Sisson took time to recognize the student scholars among the athletes as well. "Games, practices and meetings take up quite a bit of time.  Put this together with the time commitment every student must make to be successful, and you really have a full plate.  I truly believe in the phrase “student athlete," said Sisson. "These athletes are students first, and that is the expectation at Middlesex.  Every day, each semester, our students come to class, do homework, and work part-time or even full-time jobs.  Many struggle with personal, physical and emotional obstacles.  In addition to this, we encourage students to “get involved”, and our sports teams are just one of the many sources for involvement.  Sports teams foster a sense of community, camaraderie, and commitment."
Academic All Stars with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher were David Salama, Jordan Phathanak, Daniel Dykstra, Disneldy Fernandez, Blaise Msafiri, Bryan Janeczo, Stacy Craig, Corey Goggin, Wilgen Garcia-Cruz, Julie You, Christopher DeOliveria, Dhairya Mehta, Selina Wedding Christopher Natale, Zaid Saleem, Ismael Ouattara, Michaely Chea, Sarah Greeley, Bryant Sanchez, Anthony Perez-Rodriguez, Aditya Samson, Wilfri Duarte, Levi Gomes, and Kristen Padgett,
