Monadnock and Roll!
Cool temperatures didn't discourage this year's enthusiastic bunch of hikers from lacing up their boots and hitting the mountain-climbing trails!
Under a brilliant blue sky, nearly two dozen MCC students, employees, and friends joined together to experience the magic and wonder of the 2nd most frequently hiked mountain in the world, Mount Monadnock!
For many participants, it was their first real hiking experience, and far exceeded their expectations.
For all participants, it was an opportunity to get exercise, meet new people, challenge themselves, and to enjoy some of the most breathtaking views in New England.
Anything BUT a "walk in the park," the climb to the top of Monadnock is strenuous and satisfying and most climbers spent at least 30 minutes at the top relaxing, taking pictures, enjoying a snack, and basking in the glory of accomplishment.
Sponsored annually by the Center for Health and Wellness, this hiking trip is always a big hit with participants. Special thanks to trip advisors Donna Corbin, Ryan Fried, and Jean Cremins, and to trip organizer and Coordinator of Sports and Recreation at MCC, Emily Norton. Stay tuned for some more upcoming recreational trips offered throughout the academic year!
