Who Are We? MCC!
That was the resounding cheer heard echoing down Bedford's Great Road throughout the festivities for this year's Bedford Day Parade!
Just about two dozen of our incredible students took to the streets to represent the college for the town's annual celebration. The students were members of the Student Union Government Association, Orientation Leaders, and members of the Paul Sullivan Leadership Institute/Leadership in Action course.
For most of the students, it was their first time participating in a community parade, representing their college. And make no mistake - they did us PROUD!
Some of the students posed with Wizards and Warriors performers in the parade queue.
All along the route, the students passed out candy to children lining both side of Great Road. Appropriately enough, the parade-watchers were also holding their FUTURE MCC STUDENT bags that our students passed out to them before the parade began. And by parade's end, the bags were bursting with the candy giveaways from all of the parade walkers.
A pristine '57 Chevy followed our MCC float, and the students were only too happy to pose with that beautiful set of wheels!
President Mabry was able to catch up with MCC supporter and State Representative Ken Gordon before the parade kicked off
A special shoutout to our Parade Prince, Thomas Asiamah of Facilities, who OWNS our community parades, driving the truck and getting the flags of our students' nations in place each time!
At Bedford Town Common, Jillian Freitas-Haley from Admissions and Dennis Malvers from Advancement were there to greet the hundreds of students and community members who stopped at our booth. We even ran into a whole new slew of alum who came up and introduced themselves!
A great day for the college, a great spotlight event for our student leaders, and a great partnership with our host community, Bedford.
