More than 200 members of MCC's student body took part recently in a pair of transfer fairs held on campus to discuss plans to potentially transfer from Middlesex to another higher ed institution to continue their education.
The students were able to discuss the Mass Transfer program, as well as articulation plans with representatives form more than a dozen public institutions, including the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and Salem State University, which was capably represented by a shining MCC alum, Izabela Kaczynska!
Students understandably have a lot of questions regarding transferring their MCC education to another institution in their quest for a bachelors or advanced degree. Meeting directly with college admissions representatives allows them to begin the process early, and collect the answers to their specific questions. The sooner students begin collecting this information, the better off they'll be!
By attending the fairs, students became more aware of the resources available to them them at MCC as well as information they needed from the other colleges. Representatives from MCC's Advising and Financial Aid departments were on hand, along with representatives from Mass Transfer.
The key to a successful transfer isn't just knowing whether or not credits will transfer to another school, but how those credits will be used toward their individual degree program. Students gained a better understanding of how their majors and course decisions at MCC can impact their transfer options as well as the time it will take the cost of a bachelors degree. Helpful tips from the admissions representatives were valuable for students as a way to gain an edge and boost their confidence in the process.
Here's wishing all of the students the best of luck on their career and education paths!
