Getting Into the Fling of Things

Finals week, so that means it's time for one last fling on campus, and in our case, that means Spring Fling 2013!

This annual event, pulled together by the folks in Student Affairs, the Center for Health and Wellnes, and the Student Activities Crew has become a fabulous staple of our year-end celebrations on campus, bookended as it is with the Block Party held every September on our Bedford Campus.

This year's outing was no exception to the string of great events we've had for the students, with brilliant blue skies and warming temperatures helping to attract more than 1,000 of our students out onto the quad behind our city campus.IMG_7528.JPGIMG_7534.JPGIMG_7542.JPG

Photo covers, flash dance mobs, drum lines, homemade cactus plants, magazine covers, psychic readings, baseball hats, fruit frappes, and of course, sausages, and an ice cream truck all contributed to a fun-filled four hours to help our students shake off the stress from their final exams.IMG_7546.JPGIMG_7582.JPGIMG_7607.JPGIMG_7671.JPGIMG_7736.JPGIMG_7780.JPG

This year, as an added bonus, the Lowell National Historical Park provided free trolley rides for our folks through the downtown, and also opened up the gatehouse over the Lower Locks, allowing our campus folks an inside peek into the edifice behind our main city building.IMG_7723.JPGIMG_7491.JPGIMG_7507.JPG

As always, congrats to the Crew that pulled it all together, and for helping all of us put the Spring in our steps!IMG_7806.JPG

Great job Jonathan Crockett!  The Center for Health & Wellness sure knows how to throw a party!  So nice to remember that being social and reducing stress is all part of healthy living.  Your recreation programs are top notch and this one was no exception!  You make a significant impact on our College community.  Thank you!
