MCC Winnerfest!

This weekend saw the city of Lowell's annual Winterfest taking place all around City Hall, and MCC folks made their presence known in several ways - dancing, running human dogsled races, and most notably, taking home first place in the first-ever Broomball Tournament!

Here's the MCC team with their victory celebration, taking a page from Bobby Orr's flying leap playbook:

It was a clean sweep for all three games played on the ice at the Tsongas Arena for the MCC Cougars, consisting of Eric Hauser, Matt Kelly, Brandon Hebert, Chris Etter, Jason Monsignore and Jeremy Robichaud!

Additionally, the MCC Dance Club pulled together a "flash mob" of sorts right in front of City Hall to help celebrate the upcoming Women's Week Lowell, and even pulled Lowla, the Winterfest polar bear mascot, into the mix:

Nice job by club advisor Van Chum and his dancing team!

In case you're interested, here's a quick youtube video of the Winterfest flash mob:

And finally, huge kudos to the MCC team of staff and students who helped keep the human dogsled races on track, including the first-ever team from the city Campus' Lowell Police Academy!  Our folks were dog-tired after this winning festival!
