RIP, John Michael Delehanty

The MCC family extends its condolences to the family of one of our own, John Michael Delehanty, an MCC liberal arts student who died as the result of injuries sustained in a fall from a rooftop in Boston this past weekend.

John, 20, was the beloved son of Carolyn Delehanty, who works in MCC's Enrollment Support and Communications Department.  John's grandmother, Donna Delehanty also works at MCC, in the TRIO Student Success Program.

An avid skateboarder, John was also an art enthusiast and was currently taking some art appreciation classes at MCC.

John's wake will be at the O'Donnell Funeral Home on 276 Pawtucket Street in Lowell from 3-8PM on Wednesday, November 5th.  The funeral will be at St. Michaels' Church on 543 Bridge Street in Lowell at 10AM on Thursday, November 6th.

Carolyn, I can't tell you how much I am saddened for you by your loss. Indeed, everyone's loss! John Michael was a wonderful young man. He will be missed but not forgotten by those of us touched by his life. Including my (then)10 year old granddaughter Jessica who thought he was just the most "happening" cat.

She was right. Love & Deepest Condolences

Carolyn,

It seems like yesterday that John played in our prop closet while we all rehearsed for Matter of Fact.  I remember how he was a kid, and then he wasn't. He grew up with us at MCC.  When he showed up to audition this year, we all were taken at the beautiful child/boy/man in front of us.  He was funny, talented and sweet, and we are dedicating our next show to him.

On a personal note, my heart breaks for you, Donna and for your family, and please know that you are deeply loved.  We will miss John.

Carolyn,

John carried your spirit in his heart and soul-You had a remarkable love, friendship, repsect and bond with each other that any parent would envy. Let this bond always keep you grounded. May the memory of his smile give you strength. May the memory of his laughter always give you peace of heart. Bless you and take your time to feel again.
