MCC's Got Talent, Too!

Fresh off their appearance on NBC's America's Got Talent, up-and-coming rhythm and blue quartet Ahmir brings their sounds to MCC on Monday, February 4, 2008, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the Bedford Campus Center, Cafe West.

The band, which boasts Boston troots, blends urban and classic R&B with signature harmonies and songwriting.  Their debut album, The Gift, features Welcome to My Party, one of 2007's top-selling R&B/hip-hop singles.

Ahmir has opened in concert for John Legend, 112, Jagged Edge, and Boyz II Men.

The concert is offered in conjunction with MCC's Enrichment Period, which kicked off this week.  MCC is piloting an Enrichment Period for two semesters, beginning this semester.  An Enrichment Period, during which students participate in integrated curricular and co-curricular activities, has the power to maximize student learning and promote retention. This period is designed to promote the integration of learning experiences and create a stronger sense of community at Middlesex.  Members of the MCC community will collaborate to offer activities that integrate presentations, guest artists, student clubs, department/career events, as well as college-wide dialogues. Students will also be able to meet with faculty, advisors, counselors, tutors, study groups, and other personnel during this time.
