Love is in the Air at MCC
Looking for that special (and new) something to get your sweetie for the upcoming Valentine's Day?
How about a Table for Two at MCC's Historic Nesmith House? For the first time, the Middlesex Community College Foundation is offering a Valentine's Day dinner benefit on Thursday, February 14th, at the John Nesmith House, 229 Andover St., Lowell.
The evening will feature romantic piano music, and start off with a champagne toast. Diners have a choice of entrees: beef tenderloin with fresh herb butter, spinach and Marscapone stuffed salmon, or stuffed chicken with Fontina, artichokes and sun dried tomatoes. The food is provided by Bianco's Catering, with champagne and cash bar provided by Backstage Concessions.
To reserve your Table for Two, contact Maureen Spinney at the Nesmith House by February 7th at 978-458-3722. Seating will be available from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the cost is $125 per couple, with the proceeds benefiting the MCC Foundation Scholarship Fund.
For those who haven't visited (and even for those who have), the Nesmith House was built in 1843 for John and Harriet Nesmith. The 22-room Greek Revival/Regency mansion was a center for social and cultural affairs for decades, and has come full circle now, with MCC hosting dozens of social events there throughout the year, this new romantic Valentine getaway for couples being the latest.
