A message from President Carole Cowan
Today, the thoughts and prayers of the Middlesex Community College community are with our colleagues and partners hundreds of miles away at the campus of Virginia Tech.
The unspeakable tragedy that unfolded on the Blacksburg, Virginia campus has affected our entire nation. We mourn for the loss of life that occurred during the senseless rampage and pray fervently for the families most directly affected by the devastating rampage. Their losses are unimaginable.
On our MCC campuses, we have already begun taking steps to work with our students, faculty and staff to address this emergency locally. The safety of our students and personnel is paramount to us. We have already met with a group of students and provided counselors to respond to any immediate questions. We will continue to address the needs and concerns of our students as we move forward in the days ahead. I have already been in coordination with our student services, our security personnel, and our emergency management teams to ensure that MCC responds effectively to our population.
We welcome any feedback or discussion with relation to this tragedy, because it hits close to home for all of us.
