MCC Alum - The Call Goes Forth!
We know you're out there, but now we need you to step forward and be recognized! Your numbers are legion but we don't know where all of you are anymore! You are Middlesex Community College's Alumni, and we're looking to reconnect!
This year, Dennis Malvers, the Associate Dean of External Affairs and Alumni Relations at MCC has launched the most ambitious alumni campaign to date in hopes of finding some of the many folks whose lives have been touched by MCC over our 36 years of existence. A hefty task, no doubt, considering that many of our students have landed literally all over the world in all types of careers.
Dennis has had great success reconnecting with a good group of you, and many of you have jumped back into the fray to help us find even more of your former classmates.
Now, though, we're looking for some special stories amongst the masses.
In 2006, MCC launched its Distinguished Alumni Award, and presented its first ever to 1975 MCC grad Bill Chemelli, the current chairman of the MCC Board of Trustees and a retired Belmont Police Lieutenant. Now, we're currently on the prowl for recommendations for this year's recipient.
In choosing recipients for this award, the following criteria are considered: demonstrated achievement within a career or notable achievement in some other area of life; service to one's community; commitment to MCC, and demonstration of integrity and character.
The award recipient will be contacted by an awards committee and the award will be presented at the 2007 MCC Commencement ceremony on May 24.
To find out more about the award or to nominate an alum, contact Dennis Malvers, Associate Dean of External Affairs and Alumni Relations at 978-656-3185 or email malversd@middlesex.mass.edu.
And if you are one of our alum, please, use this blog as yet another way to keep in touch and let us know what you're up to!
