Nor'easter, blizzard, wind chill, - eh, who cares? We've got summer camps!!
We know, we know the weather outside is (about to be) frightful. But here's some news so delightful: MCC summer camps enrollment is off and running!
This past Saturday, nearly 150 parents and their offspring showed up for our MCC Summer Camp Registration and Open House held in our Bedford Campus Center.
MCC summer camps provide children with an exciting range of unique opportunities to explore careers, gain new knowledge, develop new skills and boost their self-confidence. Our camps, held on both the Lowell and Bedford campuses, provide students with a safe and fun place to learn.
The camps are offered for children ages 8-15, and run Monday-Friday during the summer weeks from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All of the camps employ either public school teachers or experts in the field of interest, and all employees have experience instructing children in the content area.
Once again this year, and to no one's surprise, our popular Veterinary Early Training (VET) campus sold out within the first couple of hours. Perennial favorites such as Aviation Career Education, Forensics, Lego Mindstorms, Fashion Design and Photography are back by popular demand and still have available slots.
New camps include Physics of Thrill Rides (yikes!), Engineering, Nanotechnology, Middlesex Legal, Behind the Scenes in a Recording Studio and Anime. To learn more about these unique learning opportunities for 8 - 15 year olds visit http://www.middlesex.mass.edu/CareerTraining/youth/summercamps.htm or call Marci Barnes at 781-280-3669. To register call 1-800-818-3434.
So hurry and sign up a child you think would be interested in one of the programs.
And then head outside and start shoveling.
