Beginnings

As the fall semester approaches there is the familiar sense of a new beginning. Faculty are rushing to put the finishing touches on their coursework. Students arrive with excitement, anticipation, and anxiety. Some of their most attentive moments occur during the first day of class. With another beginning before us the blog will get warmed up for the new semester with some quotes and links related to the theme of origins and starting anew.
"The beginning is the most important part of the work."
--Plato
"It's Only Too Late If You Don't Start Now"
--title of book by Barbara Sher
"No river can return to its source, yet all rivers must have a beginning."
-- Native American Proverb
"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."
-- Anais Nin
