2015 Activities Reviewed: Naga Lintel Project

Professor Livan spent a year on the intricate carving of this lintel sculpture. The design is based on an element from the ancient temple at Banteay Srei in Cambodia.

Each block is 12" x 12" x 6" x 1" thick porcelain clay.

The completed carving was on display at the Lowell Telecommunications Gallery March 2015

In May, Professor Livan prepared the kiln roof for the installation of the lintel. Filling in with bricks to make a flat surface will also strengthen the roof by minimizing movement due to heat expansion.
