One of the new option on the discussion board is to allow the students to save a draft of their messages. This option is a default setting on the current discussion board and one that unfortunately can not be changed. This means that they will be the only ones to see the message until they click Submit. When they write a post to the Discussion Board at the bottom there is Cancel, Save, and Submit button. They need to clearly know that Save will only hold the message in draft form and that only they can see it.
Many of us are used to Save being the ultimate endgame when retaining materials on the computer. With Blackboard a Save is only holding it. Submit is the "ultimate" way to make sure thing are retained for class purposes.
