Using Powerpoint in Blackboard

For those of you who have been using Powerpoint with Blackboard for quite some time may not be aware that there are two items of interest regarding easier or improved use of PP.

One occurred with the advent of Office 2003 and the related version of Power Point.  When we initially started to use BB our recommendations for the widest use of your presentations by your students was to save them as web pages.  This required a rather convoluted process to save and upload them to Blackboard.  In PP 2003 the default for "Save as web page" only generates a single file that is very easily up loaded to Blackboard.

The other option for the use of PowerPoint is a software package called Camtasia.  The college has purchased a site license for this product.  Through this the software can be installed on your college or home computer.  What this software will allow you to do is to record your presentation with your own personal narrative.  The presentation can then be converted in various ways for use in your Blackboard course site.  If you are interested in the use of this software and want to learn how to use it keep an eye on this link .
